
The SGV Symphony invites composers worldwide to submit original 3–7 minute orchestral works for our inaugural Call for Scores, with selected pieces featured in a summer 2026 concert. Entry donations support Arts Bridging The Gap’s youth arts programs, with anonymous review and flexible instrumentation welcomed.

If selected, the composer may be asked to adapt or re-orchestrate the work to fit SGV Symphony’s performing forces. No parts or revisions are required unless your piece is selected.

SGV Symphony requests only the non-exclusive right to perform the selected piece in the summer 2026 program. No exclusivity is required.
Located just minutes from City Hall in Monterey Park, Barnes Park Amphitheatre sits along S. Ramona Avenue and serves as a central hub for community arts and cultural events.

Parking is free at the nearby lot at Barnes Park. Free street parking is also available along surrounding streets.
We recommend arriving 60 minutes before the concert to allow time for parking, finding your seat, and enjoying the atmosphere. Occasionally, we host pre-concert events—check the concert page for details. Late seating will take place during a suitable break in the performance at the discretion of the house staff.
