He is also the mastering engineer for And We Were Heard, an initiative amplifying works by underrepresented composers.
Currently based in Los Angeles, Amonson is an assistant professor of practice at the USC Thornton School of Music, where he teaches Mixing for Screen Composers in the Screen Scoring and Music Technology programs. His teaching and recording philosophy, Seeing Sound, centers on the spatial perception of audio—training musicians and engineers to listen with intention and depth.
