Violinist Zachary Montagner has quickly established himself as a dynamic young performer with a passion for connecting with audiences through music. Though he began studying the violin at the age of eleven an age considered by many to be “late” for aspiring professionals his dedication, discipline, and love for the instrument have fueled an impressive trajectory of rapid growth and achievement.
Zachary has appeared in a wide range of solo and chamber settings, performing for organizations and events throughout Southern California specifically his home town in the Antelope Valley. His engagements include performances for the Palmdale Chamber of Commerce, AV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Lancaster Chamber of Commerce Installation Galas, the McDonald’s Corporation Scholarship Ceremony, the Heritage Festival, Edward Jones Investments Awards Ceremony, and the Paul Newman Painted Turtle, in addition to numerous private and community events. These opportunities have allowed him to share his artistry across diverse settings, reaching audiences of all backgrounds.
A committed and ambitious competitor, Zachary earned First Prize in the Dan Stover Music Competition hosted by the Antelope Valley Rotary in April 2022. He went on to represent Rotary District 5300 in the regional competition, performing against top young musicians from across Southern California and Arizona. In 2023 and 2024, he achieved further distinction as a two-time winner of the Antelope Valley Symphony Student Concerto Competition, earning the honor of appearing as a featured soloist with the orchestra.
Zachary’s musicianship is marked by a combination of expressive sensitivity and technical command, qualities that continue to evolve through his academic and performance pursuits. In addition to his solo work, he remains deeply committed to chamber and orchestral collaboration, recognizing the unique ways in which ensemble playing fosters both artistic growth and meaningful connections.
He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach, where he studies under the guidance of Dr. Madelyn Parnas Möller.
