Mia Paul is a Los Angeles and Santa Barbara-based cellist active as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral player, and music educator. She currently performs as a section cellist with the San Gabriel Valley Symphony, Assistant Principal Cellist of the Santa Barbara Chamber Players, and a substitute cellist with the San Luis Obispo Symphony. Her performance experience includes engagements with the Ensemble Theatre Company of Santa Barbara, the Winter Solstice Chamber Orchestra at the Granada Theatre, and Candlelight Concerts at La Lomita Ranch. Internationally, she has performed at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini in Venice, Italy, as well as in Piemonte, Italy at the Comune di Castelspina. Mia has also appeared in live productions with artists such as Wilson Phillips and the Ace Trio and recorded an album at Warner Bros. Studios through the Los Angeles Film Conducting Intensive. In addition to performing, Mia works as a professional music educator, serving as a chamber music coach for Santa Barbara Strings, orchestral coach for the Santa Barbara Youth Symphony, and site coordinator for the Music Academy of the West. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Cello Performance, as a fellow in the Young Artist String Quartet, at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Mia holds a Bachelor of Music degree from UC Santa Barbara, where she graduated with Distinction in the Major and received the Outstanding Senior Award.
