Mia Paul is a cellist based in Southern California, recognized for her versatility in solo, chamber, orchestral, and studio music. Growing up in a musical family, she began her studies in voice and piano before falling in love with the cello at age eight. Mia is currently a rising fourth-year student at UC Santa Barbara, majoring in Cello Performance and minoring in Professional Writing, where she studies with Professor Jennifer Kloetzel.
Mia’s performance experience includes appearances with the San Luis Obispo Symphony, Santa Barbara Chamber Players, Ensemble Theatre Company Santa Barbara, and the Winter Solstice Chamber Orchestra at the Granada Theatre. Internationally, she has performed at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini in Venice, Italy, alongside celebrated musicians. She has also worked as a studio musician at Warner Bros. Studios and recorded soundtracks for award-winning student films.
At UCSB, Mia performs with the Chamber Ensembles, Chamber Orchestra, Ensemble for Contemporary Music, and in opera productions. She is committed to music education and community service, teaching with the Santa Barbara Symphony’s Youth Camerata and Philharmonia, and volunteering in local schools and nursing homes. Mia is also active in student leadership, serving as President of Harmonic Youth Orchestra — UCSB Chapter, and as a coordinator for Crescendo for a Cause. Mia is passionate about using music to connect with audiences and inspire her community, believing in the power of music to heal and uplift.

Our mission is to show the next generation in the SGV that a career in the arts is not only possible, but capable of creating real change in their communities and beyond.
