
Isabel Dobrev (b. 2000) is a multifaceted bassist with a decade of professional experience. Originally from San Francisco, she began playing double bass at age 10, discovering a passion for musical connection and performance. Her early training included membership in the prestigious San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra, which propelled her toward a music career.
Isabel earned her B.A. in Global Jazz Studies from UCLA, having also been accepted to top universities for orchestral playing—a testament to her versatility across genres. In Los Angeles, she established herself as a sought-after bassist for everything from orchestral recordings to rock shows and original musicals.
Internationally, Isabel was appointed Principal Bass at the Varna State Opera House in Varna, Bulgaria, and toured with the Sofia Philharmonic during their 2024 U.S. tour. Her diverse career spans the classical and jazz worlds, and she continues to perform and collaborate widely as both an orchestral and contemporary artist.
