Aaron Zamarron is a freelancing cellist based in West Covina, CA, whose love for music started in childhood with electric and acoustic guitar. He began his orchestral journey in middle school, playing violin and double bass. At 13, he found his genuine passion for the cello and decided to dedicate himself to the instrument. Cello playing came naturally to Aaron as if he had played it in a different lifetime. He even taught the instrument himself throughout middle school and high school. He drew inspiration from renowned musicians like Sujari Britt, Jacqueline du Pré, Alisa Weilerstein, and Mstislav Rostropovich.
As a high school student, Aaron made his professional orchestral debut with the SCSBOA All-Southern Honor Orchestra and served as principal cellist for the Baldwin Park High School Orchestra for all four years. During his rise in the L.A. music scene, he has performed in venues such as the First Congregational Church of L.A., Million Dollar Theater, Fred Kavli Theater, The BroadStage, Ambassador Auditorium and the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Recently, Aaron had the honor of collaborating with renowned conductor, Anthony Parnther in a big project with the RISE Diversity Orchestra at Warner Bros. Eastwood Recording Stage.
Aaron has been playing the cello for 6 and a half years, and is currently an active member of Loyola Marymount University’s Law School Orchestra under the direction of Simona Grossi, and the California Young Artists Symphony under Alexander Tseitlin. He has generally received masterclasses, individual lessons, and worked with renowned musicians such as CSUF cello professor, Bongshin Ko, violinist Suli Xue from the LA Phil, and conductor/violinist David Chan from the Juilliard School. Aaron is currently a student at Azusa Pacific University studying cello with Dr. Marek Szpakiewicz in the Artist Certificate Program.
