Robert V. Lampkin is an award-winning film and media composer from Atlanta, Georgia and currently based in Los Angeles. His unique approach to orchestral scoring has brought him international recognition, with 6 of his pieces being recognized finalists in international competitions. Whilst regularly using his global music background, his inspirations often come from the likes of Thomas Newman, John Powell, Joe Hisaishi, and John Williams. He recently received his Masters of Music in Screen Scoring from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music.
Currently, Robert's music can be heard in various short films and games, with the most notable credits being CHICKS, directed by Jorge Rodriguez, GEORGIE, directed by Katherine Vasta, and additional music for the new Harry Potter Magic Caster Wand from Warner Brothers.
Robert has worked with Los Angeles studio musicians at the Warner Bros Eastwood Scoring Stage, Fox Newman Stage and other studios spaces. He has also worked in musicians from Budapest Scoring and was the top 10 composers in the European Recording Orchestra's Call For Scores in 2023.
Robert is a proud member of ASCAP and the Society of Composers and Lyricists, an alumni of the 2022-23 Los Angeles Film Conducting Intensive and 2022 NYU Screen Scoring Summer Workshop.
