John Williams (b. 1932) is one of the most iconic and influential film composers in history. With a career spanning over seven decades, he has scored many of the most beloved films of all time, including Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, E.T., Harry Potter, Jaws, and Schindler’s List. Known for his masterful orchestration, memorable melodies, and emotional depth, Williams has redefined the sound of modern cinema. He has won five Academy Awards and holds the record for the most Oscar nominations of any living person. Beyond film, Williams has also composed acclaimed concert works and served as conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra from 1980 to 1993.
