
Theodore Hom is a cellist in the San Gabriel Valley Symphony and holds a fellowship with the California Young Artists Symphony. Recent concerto performances include Elgar’s cello concerto with the LACHSA Symphony orchestra and Haydn’s C Major Cello Concerto with the PSY Chamber orchestra. During the summers, he has attended: Boston University Tanglewood Institute, Two Cranes International music Festival in Taiwan, Montecito, Iddywild, Interlochen, Texas Music Festival, and YOLA National. Through YOLA, Theodore has performed many times (under the direction of Gustavo Dudamel) at the Walt Disney concert hall, Hollywood bowl, Gagosian Gallery, and other venues in Los Angeles. Theodore Has participated in masterclasses with Robert DeMaine, Ron Leornard, Andrew Shulman, Paul Watkins, Brinton Smith, Anthony Kitai, John Walz, Ben Hong, Mihail Jojatu, Richard Aaron, Eugene Drucker, Cecilia Tsan, Andrew Cook, and Bongshin Ko.Theodore currently studies under LA Philharmonic cellist Dr. David Garrett at the Bob Cole Conservatory of music at CSULB where he received the Donald W. Leonard Endowed Scholarship for the Arts. As a sophomore, Theodore was appointed principal cello of the conservatory’s Symphony Orchestra and was selected to be a part of the conservatory’s University String Quartet. As a dedicated teacher he has held teaching positions with the Saturday Conservatory of Music, Belmont Music Studio, and currently teaches with “The Youth Center” in Los Alamitos school district.
