Sebastian Lee is a cellist graduating with a bachelors and masters degree in cello performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory at California State University Long Beach studying under LA cellist Joon Sung Jun. As a classically trained cellist he has subbed with the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra, attended the Brevard Summer Institute, and gigs operatic and ballet pit orchestras. Sebastian plays in a variety of non-classical styles collaborating with artists in the recording booth and on stage from rock to reggae. As a chamber musician, Sebastian is the cellist for the Calico Piano Trio working primarily in classical repertoire. Sebastian is also part of the Tony Stone Trio working in contemporary improvised chamber music. As a performing artist, Sebastian enjoys collaborating with artists of visual and physical disciplines premiering new music and location based performance art. Sebastian has collaborated with botanic, shibari, choreography, fashion, and projection mapping art. Sebastian Lee’s private cello studio is primarily based in the South Bay, though he teaches several private students across LA county. Sebastian currently holds a position as Instructional Assistant for the elementary string program at Manhattan Beach Unified School District.
