Luke Timbre is a senior at Alhambra High School and currently holds the Mark Trulson Young Musicians Chair with the San Gabriel Valley Symphony. As the sole student selected from his school, Luke performs as a percussionist alongside professional musicians, showcasing his dedication, artistry, and passion for orchestral music.
Outside of the symphony, he is a proud member of OCI, where he helped lead the ensemble to a 1st place finish in the 2025 Percussion Independent Open Division at the Southern California Percussion Alliance Championships, and a 7th place finish at the 2025 WGI Percussion World Championships. He also marched with Vessel Drum and Bugle Corps in 2024, participating in Drum Corps International (DCI), further expanding his experience in the world of competitive marching arts.
Luke is a two-time local finalist and regional finalist for the Dan Stover Rotary Scholarship Competition, recognized for his outstanding musicianship and leadership. In addition to performing, he shares his musical journey through daily percussion videos and original compositions on social media under @lukeplaysnotes. Luke is deeply grateful for the opportunity to hold the Mark Trulson Young Musicians Chair with the San Gabriel Valley Symphony and is honored to represent the next generation of young artists.
