A native of Taiwan, Daphne Tsao began her musical training on piano at age 3, and on the Violin at age 7. When she was 9, she performed her television debut as the defending violinist champion on the Taiwanese show 5 Lights Award. Since then, she has toured with orchestras throughout Japan, Singapore, Australia, the USA and Europe.
Daphne earned her B.A. in Violin Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, has studied with Curtis Macomber and Arianna Bronne. Daphne was the recipient of a full scholarship and teaching assistantship from New York University, where she received her Master’s Degree in Violin Performance.
She has played under the batons of leading conductors including Claudio Abbado, Kurt Masur, and John Williams, and collaborated with a number of soloists including Lang Lang, Yuja Wang, Emanuel Ax, and Dawn Upshaw.
Daphne has performed in numerous venues in New York City and Los Angeles, as well as in Broadway and Off-Broadway theater productions. She also performed the American National Anthem for the Green Bay Packers and played for the soundtrack for the Documentary Short Film: “The Last Repair Shop”.

Our mission is to show the next generation in the SGV that a career in the arts is not only possible, but capable of creating real change in their communities and beyond.
