Christopher Vargas is a native Angeleno, a first-generation college graduate, and a second-generation immigrant. A dedicated educator and avid performer, Chris is passionate about using music as a vessel for positive change. As a former member of the Sandia Brass Quintet, Chris frequently organized outreach concerts in the Albuquerque, NM area. These free concerts showcased diverse musical genres, making classical music more accessible to the community. His love for music has brought him to prestigious stages such as Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, Popejoy Hall, the GRAMMY Museum L.A. Live, The Roxy, and the Dolby Theatre. Chris has also had the privilege of performing alongside renowned artists like Jon Batiste, Tierney Sutton, Lisa Henry, and has performed with several orchestras including the Las Cruces Symphony and San Juan Symphony.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Music Performance in Tuba Performance from the University of Redlands and a Master of Music in Tuba Performance from the University of New Mexico. Currently he is enjoying freelancing and teaching in Los Angeles.
In his free time, Chris enjoys riding his bike, working out, exploring new coffee shops, traveling, playing video games, spending time with his cats, Reggie and Mel, and photographing interesting cars around town.

Our mission is to show the next generation in the SGV that a career in the arts is not only possible, but capable of creating real change in their communities and beyond.
