Carter Williams’ passion and ambition for making a career out of the harp are showcased through her constant desire to perform and collaborate, her personal projects, and her goal to help younger musicians thrive. As a senior at USC, she performs in almost every concert allowing her to grow quickly as a soloist and in chamber and orchestral music. Carter challenges the normalities of the harp by performing unique music and setting no boundaries. She enjoys playing music for films and collaborating with pop musicians to create new sounds. With her minor in cinematic arts, she is also learning how to make movies that she will someday play the soundtracks for. Carter is currently the harpist at USC in the Opera Orchestra, Student Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and Choir Orchestra. In addition to school work, Carter is the harpist-on-call for the Fresno Philharmonic and recently performed with the Pacific Symphony in a collaboration concert with USC Symphony performing Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique, as well as in “A Ballet Through Mud” with RZA.
