Sienna George is a California girl named after the color brown, born and living in Los Angeles, CA. She grew up playing piano, bass guitar, cello, and mandolin, and speaks English, Italian, and French. At the age of 13, she began passionately playing double bass, making her Carnegie Hall debut at age 14.
She received her master’s at Manhattan School of Music. In NYC, she is a member of Long Beach Symphony, Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra, NY Arabic Orchestra, and Seocho Philharmonic, and has accompanied Albert and Alexander Markov, as well as actor Alec Baldwin. She has performed in venues across the world such as Carnegie Hall, La Scala in Milan, all across China, Disney Concert Hall, and Segerstrom Hall—playing with live orchestras on beaches, cliffs, forests, and on yachts.
Sienna actively plays jazz, folk, rock, and Brazilian music. She is a studio bassist and has performed in many music festivals including Lightning in a Bottle, LB Love Fest, Idyllwild Summer Festival, Long Beach Funk Fest, Echo Park Rising, Flagstaff Folk Festival, and more. Mixing the worlds of classical upright bass with jazz, folk, funk, or rock is her specialty.
Outside of performing, Sienna is a luthier, repairing stringed instruments for Lemur Music and LA Bass Works. She has made guitars, electric basses, and upright basses for Blast Cult. On her own, she carves wooden mutes for classical stringed instruments, which are now used around the world by the NY Phil, London Symphony, LA Phil, Met Opera, and more.
Teaching yoga is also a big passion. She has begun bringing yoga classes and therapy to classical musicians in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Above all, Sienna loves sharing the joy of music through teaching, playing, and singing. Outside the world of music, she loves surfing and wakes with the sunrise to ride a wave whenever she can.
