Yes. Through our side-by-side program, students from San Gabriel Valley public schools rehearse and perform onstage with our ensemble. We also provide 200+ free tickets per concert to local students and families, ensuring broad access to the arts.
Our ensemble is made up of dedicated arts advocates and working musicians who believe music should serve people. Many are also educators, mentors, and organizers committed to using their craft to create meaningful change in the SGV.
We are not just a concert organization—we are a social impact orchestra. Our mission is to redefine what a symphony orchestra looks like, sounds like, and stands for, far beyond the walls of a concert hall. We exist to empower the next generation and uplift communities through music that matters.
Our programs feature a mix of classical masterworks, film and game scores, and new works by living composers. At every concert, we premiere a new piece by an emerging composer from the contemporary or film music world. Each performance is designed with a civic purpose, whether it’s honoring AAPI voices, celebrating LGBTQ+ artists, or connecting with local students and families.
Our main venue is the historic San Gabriel Mission Playhouse, where we hold our primary season concerts. Our summer concerts are held outdoors at the Barnes Park Amphitheatre in Monterey Park.
