Shahid Yasser Osuna is an LA-based flutist and teaching artist. In 2019, he graduated from California State University, Northridge with a degree in Wind Performance, where he studied with David Shostac. In 2021, Shahid completed his Master of Fine Arts degree in InstrumentalArts at the California Institute of the Arts under Dr. Rachel Rudich.

Shahid has played with several ensembles across the Los Angeles area, including the Whittier Regional Symphony, Bellflower Symphony Orchestra, San Fernando Symphony, Armenian Pops Orchestra, and the LA Symphonic Winds. He has also played in pit orchestras for various organizations, including Hussian College and Performance Riverside.

An avid flute ensemble enthusiast, Shahid has played with the Song of Angels Flute Orchestra, FluteSonic, the Silver Sounds Flute Ensemble, and the Sterling Flute Choir. His flute ensemble arrangements and compositions have been debuted through performances at national venues, such as at the 2019 National Flute Association Convention in Salt Lake City, UT, and also virtually featured due to the recent pandemic, a blues-inspired arrangement of “Amazing Grace” written in 2020 has been featured by the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.

Shahid has taught across Southern California through various music organizations, schools, and studios. He loves teaching students of all levels and ages. Currently, Shahid is the Flute Teaching Artist at the Laby Harmony Project which operates in Ventura, CA under the New West Symphony, as well as teaching privately through both local and his own studio in the San Fernando Valley.
