Born in New York and raised in Los Angeles, Ruka Felicity Nagashima grew up heavily involved in the performing arts through classical music, hip-hop dance, and on-camera acting. Ruka started her classical music training at the age of four on the piano, then started the violin at age seven. She received her Senior Medallion from the Music Teachers Association of California in 2018 after completing Level 10 in Certificate of Merit for piano. Ruka graduated from Los Angeles County High School of the Arts in 2018, where she was a part of the LACHSA Symphony, and from University of California, Los Angeles in 2022, where she was a part of the UCLA Symphony. She has an Associate of Arts in Communication from Santa Monica College and Bachelors of Arts in Communication, with a minor in Film, Media, and Digital Arts from UCLA (Summa Cum Laude). As a professional musician, Ruka has experience in solo, chamber, orchestral performance, teaching, and studio recording. She has played in the live production and album recording of the musical Dis-Topia as assistant principal second, and recorded for the following film soundtracks: Richard’s Roast, Gracie Turns 15, and Promenade. Aside from her musical career, Ruka also has been working in the entertainment industry since the age of five. She has been a member of Screen Actors Guild since 2014, and uses her bilingual skills in English and Japanese to work as a Marketing Coordinator at a major anime company
